ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY

Fraternitas is a Non-governmental organization founded way back in November 2013 in Sanok, Poland. It started as a small informal group of young people who met at university and where going to youth exchanges abroad organize by the local university. A few members of this group decided to take this venture a step forward and decided to start up an NGO to give the opportunities they had to other youths. Apart from this these youth also wanted to work for and promote the values that they shared.

As Fraternitas our main goal is to promote and implement youth exchange projects within "Erasmus +" programme. We want to give people with fewer opportunities to learn and meet their peers from different countries in a different community than ours, so that they can grow from these experiences.

Our mission is:

- Working on behalf of international cooperation between local communities and different social groups in the aspect of youth exchange

- promoting active participation in a social life among local communities

- organizing cultural, informative, educational and sport events to promote local and international partnership-building activities.

We have taken part in a number of youth exchanges and training courses and lately have also successfully implemented our projects which took place in September 2015, July 2016, January 2020, October 2021, December 2021, April 2022, May 2022, June 2022, September 2022 April 2023, September 2023 and January 2024.

Beside this we also work on KA02 projects where we managed two projects – ASSET and YES, we were also partner in other two projects related to ecology and women rights.

We are also part of the Erasmus for young Entrepreneurs programme.

We took part in many youth exchanges abroad in past years related to democracy, ecology, sport, social inclusion, migration, gender equality, digital media, entrepreneurship, self development, hate speech, music, NEET’s, tolerance, human rights, radicalization and widely known culture. Our volunteers have experience with international projects. We are cooperating with two local schools - University and High school.

We implemented three projects in Poland:

  • Start Up - it was contact seminar, during which we created network among organizations with same interest. During project international youth workers developed future projects, which has been realized in 2016 and 2017 with our cooperation.

  • Let’s Cooperate - it was youth exchange, which has a goal to help youth in future carrier and personal development. We mixed carrier workshops with culture knowledge.

  • Open Up – it was youth exchange about cultural identity, where participants focused on themselves, and on how to learn and grow better thanks to reflections.

  • Different but yet similar – was youth exchange devoted to Slavic culture, where participants discovered similarities and differences of our culture and how to use European funds to promote culture.

  • Bullying-proof – it was youth exchange about bullying phenomena. Participants discovered why it happened and how to prevent bullying. Youth created own campaign to fight with bullying.

  • Connect – training course for youth workers, which boosted skills related to understanding behaviour of youth. It gave new ideas for new projects.

  • Compass – training course for youth workers, where we used Orienteering Sport as tool to help youth work, promoting healthy life style, sport, and offline life opposite to digitalization.

  • Peace of mind – it was youth exchange devoted to help youth to gain experience and skills about mental health, how to help other people, and promote empathic society.

  • Gender Equality – it was training course, created to help young women, to fight stereotypes, build campaign and create tools in youth work for equality of women and men.

  • Tell me something about you – its youth exchange, which helped youth to work on unemployment problem and resolve carrier path.

  • Heroes & Legends – its youth exchange, created to promote theatre, history and European culture. To show we are similar besides we live in different countries.

  • Shaping Our Skills – it was youth exchange, where we worked on mental health of youth, and reconnecting us with society, after Pandemic situation changed our society to be more close.

  • Introvision – its youth exchange, designed to help introverted youth gain skills related to theatre, acting, public speaking and to be more flexible while working with international group of people.
